Welcome to DigiQUAL

Under the auspices of the Association of Research Libraries, the DigiQUAL project is modifying and repurposing the existing LibQUAL+(TM) protocol (used by over 500 libraries) to assess the services provided for the user communities of the National Science, Math, Engineering and Technology Education Digital Library (NSDL) program. The work is supported under grant no. [DUE-0121769]

Through focus group interviews with DLESE and MERLOT participants, DigiQUAL has identified 180+ items around twelve themes (see Lincoln, Cook, Kyrillidou, 2004) related to digital library service quality. The first phase of DigiQUAL involves testing subsets of these elements with five pilot sites: DLESE, Math Forum, MERLOT, NSDL.org and NEEDS. After testing and analysis in spring and summer of 2005, the protocol will be reviewed for scaling across digital libraries in NSDL and beyond in 2006.
